The Iranian Protests: The Bare Face of Repressive Power

Please register for free on Eventbrite.

As the internet gets blocked and voices are silenced, protests against the dictatorial regime in Iran rage on. Mahsa Amini’s death has moved masses of people to stand up. Worldwide support for those proclaiming ‘Woman. Life. Freedom.’ grows. Yet the Iranian government sticks to violence and oppression as a response. The current demonstrations in Iran expose what it means to live under a dictatorial regime. What is the logic behind such manifestations of power?

You are invited to come talk about what is happening in Iran these days. In collaboration with Iranian TU Delft students, we welcome you into a safe space to face this country’s current harsh reality.

What happens when repressive power is no longer supported by the people? Which face appears if those who desire change get out on the streets to demand it? And which ways to help are there for those who find themselves outside of the conflict?

Vegetarian sandwiches are provided. More programme details to follow.
