How do we know which conspiracy theories to take seriously? What role should conspiracy theories play in our historical and political outlook? For some social scientists and philosophers, there is a significant difference between incorporating conspiracy theories into your understanding of history and incorporating historical events into your conspiracy theory.
So what makes something a conspiracy? Need it be secret? Need it be malevolent? Furthermore, what makes someone a ‘conspiracy theorist’ – and is it bad to be one?
Together, we will conspire to understand the social science and philosophy of conspiracy theories, conspiracy theorists, and conspiracism.
This event is organized by VOX Delft in collaboration with SG.
