VOX Movie Night: They Live (1988) by John Carpenter

VOX Delft, the association for critical and creative thinking, is hosting another free movie night in the TU Library.

“They Live” is a science fiction action film from 1988 directed by John Carpenter, recognized as one of his most representative works. The film follows an unnamed drifter who discovers that the ruling class are aliens concealing their appearance. Instead of the old story of aliens imposing horrible dictatorship over humanity, they manipulate people to consume, breed, and conform to the status quo via subliminal messages in mass media. The film initially received negative reviews from critics, who lambasted its social commentary, writing, and acting; however, it later gained a cult following and experienced a significantly more favorable critical reception.

Join us at 18:30 February 28th in the TU Delft Library Orange room for this movie and the pizza & snacks we offer!
