Does love need to be liberated? If so, from what? The phrase ‘free love’ may be associated with mid to late 20th century hippies, but has its origins as a philosophy in religious movements which are thousands of years old. Since then, thinkers have come and gone asking how love can be made more free, and what we need to do to make it so.

Every being on Earth – human and non-human – breathes the same air. Yet air is shared unevenly: we pollute it with our factories and lights at night, claim it with our airplanes, and even capitalize it through our wind turbines.

This week’s topic is a surprise. As in, nobody knows what the future will be bring, until it happens.

How do you escape the deep influence of digital media? We don’t fully control what we see online, or what we reveal about ourselves. But tonight we’ll examine approaches to maintaining our online autonomy in the face of social media algorithms.
