Diversity Talks | Inclusion starts with an I

Let’s talk diversity!

Diversity Talks is a series of free events that provides an open space to discuss and better understand diversity and inclusion. We will explore aspects of diversity within the context of science, technology and education as well as the work we do here as students, staff and management.

In this second presentation, dr. Hans van Dijk will explain why diversity is not only important for science and education but for us all. He will explore what this means for us and our working environments and what are the seen and unseen issues we encounter. Following the lecture, Scott Solder will talk about power and the misuse of power and how we can create a pleasant and safe workplace for everyone. In an ‘active bystander training’, he will discuss tools to deal with poor behaviour in your own work environment.

You are cordially invited to our second event ‘Inclusion starts with an I: awareness of biases and activating the bystander’ on Friday 14 December, 12.30 hrs at X TU Delft, Theatre hall. Admission is free and lunch will be provided.

This series of events are made possible by Studium Generale, DEWIS (Delft Women in Science), True-U (LGBT-network), TU Delft Diversity & Inclusion Office, X TU Delft and the TU Delft Feminists. For more information please visit the Diversity & Inclusion website. The next event will take place on 21 Februari on the topic of inclusive design and technology.
