Eye contact is a weird, weird thing. Some people are good at it, some are inhibited by their neurology, and others yet are prohibited culturally. In day to day life, we are constantly navigating when and how and how long to maintain eye contact with the people we meet.
What do we communicate through our eyes? What do we communicate when we look away?
How do cultural barriers, gender, age, size, power differences, innate charm, and other factors determine how we make contact?
For those who are interested, I want to try a little eye contact experiment today (or if you don’t want to, just watch). And then we’ll talk about the weirdness.
