A free lecture and open discussion, including lunch, on Gandhi’s message today and how/if it applies to engineers featuring Shobhana Radhakrishna of the Gandhian Forum for Ethical Corporate Governance.
Shobhana Radhakrishna is an experienced lecturer who has has given numerous talks on Gandhi’s vision all around the world. She will present us with a lecture on Mahatma Gandhi’s enduring legacy and it’s relevance in the contemporary world. Can the lessons learned from Gandhi’ s life be of help in our personal lives as well as help us address the pressing social and ecological challenges of our times?
This lecture, on the 148th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, is followed by an open discussion in which we question the role of non-violence in regards to technology & culture. Most people agree non-violence is a wonderful ideal but what does it mean for you as a student or as a researcher? Is it too much too ask for in this world? Join in if you have ideas or if you want to hear other peoples’ opinions.
