In the wake of Orlando attacks in the US, the discussion about “Heterosexism and Internalized homophobia” lashed out in the media. Several people expressed their opinions (reasonable/senseless) which sparked a curiosity: How do cultures around the world contribute to our understanding of heterosexism and internalized homophobia; what was it like growing up dealing with it (personally, or with kith and kin); Is there a way to educate/spread a more “accepted/welcoming” rationale (does it even exist?)?
During an informal discussion we attempt to push boundaries and buttons with the purpose to share applicable insights. As moderator Bart (of Spartan Workout and “What University Doesn’t Teach You lecture series”) will make sure we keep focus on the topic and have a fruitful debate.
Cheers!
